Meet Tessa & Iley
Iley is a bright, beautiful five-year-old…a little girl who was faced with a painful loss all too soon in her young life. “He had to pass away because he was so sick,” explains Iley as she tells Evan’s story. It was only one year ago that she lost her baby brother, who lived for just 54 minutes. Iley’s parents, Tessa and Rory, had learned midway through Tessa’s pregnancy that Evan had a fatal condition.
Losing a child is one of life’s most painful tragedies. The death of a baby during pregnancy or in the first few months of life presents bereaved parents with an array of feelings that are overwhelming and confusing. It is often misunderstood by well-meaning friends and family, so bereaved parents are sometimes left to sort out the devastating pain and grief on their own.
Tessa and her mom began feverishly searching the internet for ways to deal with their heartbreak. They looked for ways to remember their precious baby boy…and that’s when they discovered Share Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support, Inc. “I was getting more and more excited by the minute because I realized that there were so many amazing ways we would be able to celebrate Evan’s life,” said Tessa.
